Halibut Fishing Opens

Columbia River (Ilwaco): Marine Area 1 will be open May 1, seven days a week until 70 percent of the quota is reached, or until July 20. The fishery will then reopen on Aug. 1 and continue three days a week (Friday-Sunday) until the remaining quota is reached, or Sept. 30, whichever occurs first. The annual catch quota is 18,762 pounds. |

Make way for Tall Ships!
Ilwaco welcomes Tall Ships back to the Port of Ilwaco. The Grand Arrival of the Lady Washington (famous for her appearance in the movie, "Pirates of the Caribbean,") and Hawaiian Chieftan includes free dockside tours. Additional events and activities are being planned for this year's "Nautical Renaissance." To reserve a sail on either of the ships, please call: 1-800-200-LADY.

Make way for Tall Ships!
The tall ships Lynx and Bounty sail into port. The Bounty is the replica used in the 1962 movie “Mutiny on the Bounty” staring Marlon Brando and Trevor Howard. The King’s Navy, re-enactors of British Sailors during the era of H.M.S. Bounty, will be on board. Dockside tours will be available.
