Calendar of Events

In Ilwaco and our neighboring communities there is an almost steady stream of fun, interesting, informative and, sometimes, challenging events. From Tall Ships to Cranberry Days with Waterfront Dances, Juicy BBQ’s and Kayak and Canoe Races in between. Plan your next vacation around some of our Columbia Pacific Regional events. Visitors are always welcomed.

Halibut Fishing Opens

Columbia River (Ilwaco): Marine Area 1 will be open May 1, seven days a week until 70 percent of the quota is reached, or until July 20. The fishery will then reopen on Aug. 1 and continue three days a week (Friday-Sunday) until the remaining quota is reached, or Sept. 30, whichever occurs first. The annual catch quota is 18,762 pounds.

Saturday Market at the Port
A weekly Saturday Market with vendors selling arts, crafts, housewares, plants, foods, hand-sewn items, beauty makeovers, weekly entertainment, & more! 10am - 4 pm

Make way for Tall Ships!
Ilwaco welcomes Tall Ships back to the Port of Ilwaco. The Grand Arrival of the Lady Washington (famous for her appearance in the movie, "Pirates of the Caribbean,") and Hawaiian Chieftan includes free dockside tours. Additional events and activities are being planned for this year's "Nautical Renaissance." To reserve a sail on either of the ships, please call: 1-800-200-LADY.

Make way for Tall Ships!
The tall ships Lynx and Bounty sail into port. The Bounty is the replica used in the 1962 movie “Mutiny on the Bounty” staring Marlon Brando and Trevor Howard. The King’s Navy, re-enactors of British Sailors during the era of H.M.S. Bounty, will be on board. Dockside tours will be available.

Baker Bay Kayak/Canoe Race

Cranberry Bite at the Port
Head to the Port of Ilwaco where you can get a bite of cranberry goodness at participating businesses, just for wearing your Cranberrian Fair entrance badge!

Wild Mushroom Celebration
Participating restaurants, inns and bed and breakfast establishments offer daily wild mushroom specials. Wild mushroom workshops, field excursions and prix-fixe dinners are also offered. October 15 - November 15.

Christmas at the Port
Lighted Boat Parade, Marching Band, the World's Tallest Crab Pot Christmas Tree and Mr. & Mrs. Santa.
