They will be here for the 2010 Oregon Tuna Classic on July 31st. I’m sure as long as the turn out is good and the fish are out there the event will continue. Thanks!
I’ll be mooring in Ilwaco this year for the first time, although I’ve fished the river and across the bar for 35 years – from Oregon side moorage, or trailer boating. In all those years, it’s been salmon and bottom fishing. I just bought a “tuna-capable” boat, and am looking forward to going for albacore. I’ve been on one charter trip for albacore about 30 years ago, and don’t know “diddly” about where to find information about the season as it progresses. Any tips on who to talk to at Ilwaco, or where to find water temperature or “tuna reports” (internet sites, etc.) during the season would be appreciated.
The best suggestion would be to check with the Bait Shack. They seem to have the best and most current information.
